PAPER & TEA has been selling high-quality teas, accessories, paper products and gifts for more than eleven years, primarily operating in the DACH region with several retail stores and an online shop.

In order to meet the expansion strategy into other European countries, the company needed a new POS and order management system that aligned with their growing requirements. Among other things, this system had to accommodate the company’s omnichannel strategy, as well as support country-specific fiscalization and legal requirements.

Flexibility in integrations and consideration of country-specific peculiarities were also crucial to ensure smooth business operations, allowing PAPER & TEA to focus on the essentials: offering customers unique products and excellent service.

Project

For PAPER & TEA, the direction was clear: the implementation of the NewStore mobile POS system, and the processes for Endless Aisle as well as Reserve and Collect were identified as priorities. Furthermore, a 360-degree view of customers across all online and offline channels, including loyalty points and gift vouchers, was to be implemented.

The project scope also included the integration of backend systems and PAPER & TEA’s online shop, as well as an optimization of store operation processes. All of this was done with a focus on requirements in various growth markets and a rapid further rollout of the platform.

Results

After a 5 months initial project, all stores were rolled out on the NewStore mobile POS and order management platform. Shortly thereafter, new store openings occurred in numerous countries where PAPER & TEA had not been active before.

These include the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, and Norway. In total, since going live, 20 new stores have been opened.
